Introducing Let's Make Art Matter
Hello friends,
We want to start off by saying we think you are amazing, brave, and wonderful people who are still chasing down their creativity and try something new. And we love you for that.
We have all learned as we go through our days that life is hard, and we don’t necessarily mean just one person, we mean everyone’s. It may be one particular family that had a very rough yearrom cancer to suicide to miscarriages to divorce. Every time something horrible happens we want to say something, anything, that could comfort them, but who even knows what to say in those situations? So instead of saying, we create. Just so they know we are thinking about them, just so they know they are loved. t is through these experiences that we realized that art can be so much more than fun illustrations. Art can help bring people together, spread love, and sometimes heal. want everybody to know that.
So every month in our subscription box we include a little postcard. A postcard for someone who needs a little extra love or thought. But we need your help. While we would love to send these postcards to people we personally know, we want this to reach beyond my grasp, and that is where you come in. As you go about your day, think of someone who might need this. t can be anybody, a sweet neighbor that you appreciate, someone who is lonely, or down, or sad. Send us their information and we can see if we can brighten their day, even just for a little bit. Because we are all in this together.

I loved your idea so much that it gave me confidence to practice your loose flower demos on torn-down watercolor paper. I painted a birthday card for a old friend, and I painted another card for a recent widow. Next will be a welcome home sign for a friend returned after 2 months of cancer treatments. I need lots of practice, and like you said, there’s a ton of hurt in the world to send wishes to. I pray for each person while I’m painting. Thank you for ALL your inspiration, in so many ways. It’s really helpful when you or someone else adds on the demos what colors you are using as I have tube paints of my own, and have even used old dried up tube paints I found of my mom’s – probably 50 years old. Just chisel some out and add water!
Great idea! I would like some info on this project! Thanks, Steve
This is such a wonderful idea! I just lost my husband to cancer a couple of weeks ago. My situation was easier to bare because of the cards and support from others.
I love this so much. I’ve subscribed and can’t wait to be a part of this beautiful gesture. Love wins every time.
Amazing idea. While I was going through some pretty terrifying medical issues this month, I opened my box! I was quickly reminded that I am so blessed and that I’m not alone on this journey of fear. There are people battling MUCH more than I am. I prayed so hard over my message as I wrote it. Keep up the great outreach!
