Let's Make Art Matter for Wyandotte High School- April 2021 Watercolor
Share
Wyandotte High School has been on remote learning since March of 2019. Many of our students are suffering from not having physical school and having that escape from the rest of their lives. A large quantity of the students have jobs to help their parents put food on the table or take care of their siblings so their parents can work. This has been a difficult time for many of them. The HPS academy in particular (Human and Public Service) has struggled as many of the students are focused on going into fields that deal with the public: culinary, business, hospitality, law enforcement, etc.
These students often are not able to have the experiences their teachers would have been able to offer them otherwise. Receiving post cards would be a great way to brighten their days. The postcards sent by the amazing LlaMA community will be sent to the students in a digital newsletter while they are in remote learning and will then be framed to hang in the historic building for when the students return. This will serve as a reminder that there are people who care about their futures and that they have not been forgotten!
If you would like to send a card, a stamped postcard is included your April Watercolor Subscription Box. If you are not subscribed, but would still like to send some love, please email hello@letsmakeart.com for the address.
