Let's Make Art Matter for Shelley- October 2021 Watercolor
After battling not one but two types of cancer Shelley quickly went from being cared for to caring for her mother after a terrible stroke. Shelley continued to work full-time and care for her mom full-time until Sylvia could no longer be left alone around 3 years ago. Since then she has continued to visit, cook favorite dishes with enough for the entire home, take her mom to doctor appointments and bring flowers and other special treats over.
It has been a long journey and the days ahead are likely going to be more challenging. Receiving postcards from the Let's Make Art community will show love and support for both Sylvia as well as Shelly who is giving her all as a caregiver who has carried this off with grace and compassion.
