Under the Sea
We are changing up our perspective and painting the ocean floor! We will be using multiple techniques such as gradient washes, wet on dry, and lifting to create this underwater scene. What I love most about this is the option to add to it (sea turtles, dolphins, maybe even a mermaid)! GO WILD!
Bokeh
In this project, we will be playing with depth using bokeh, a photography term for out-of-focus areas. This project is actually pretty straightforward and fun to do, but the trick is to work fast and use a gentle hand. This will help immensely in the steps where we’re lifting out our circles!
Northern Lights
What a dream it would be to see this sky in person! In this project, we will embrace the unpredictability of wet on wet to paint our vibrant sky. Then we will add silhouette trees in the foreground for perspective and some stars for an extra punch. Let’s do this!
Sunlit Waves
Okay you guys, I need to warn you. This painting will not look great close up. Halfway through you might think, “What am I even painting right now?” BUT that is okay! Trust the process, embrace the messy middle, and then when it’s done, take a look from far away. You will be AMAZED!
