I have always been drawn to painting flowers. I loved the ruffly edges, the color, and their shape (so many layers!) For this project we use wet on wet, but we go over how to harness a little bit of that color spreading so it can move the way you want. You might notice that although this Iris is purple, we do not have purple in our color palette! I did that because when you mix colors you can have a range in the color itself (for example we can make a more pink purple or a more blue purple instead of being stuck with the purple that comes out of the bottle) This project is a great way to play with technique and color mixing!
