Aren’t sunflowers one of those flowers that just almost instantly make you happy? They are so big, and bright and beautiful. This flower is super fun to paint because we get to do nice big brushstrokes for the petals, and play with mixing colors! A couple things we are going to go over with this sunflower are 1. Foreshortening (object has less depth due to perspective) 2. Direction! Pay attention to the direction of the petals around the center of the flower, as it goes around, the petals change direction. 3. Perspective! We are painting this sunflower is if we are looking at it from the side – so the center is not a perfect circle, and the leaves aren’t laying flat. I know those are quite a few things to go over in one painting, but I know you can handle it! Just above all else, remember to have fun with it
